About the Challenge for the Challenge

The Social Business Innovation Challenge is a powerful way to encourage NH’s student and community social entrepreneurs to present their best ideas to address pressing social and/or environmental issues at the state, national, or even global level. (Learn more and apply by September 13th!)

When they first heard about the distinguished honor of hosting Dr. Yunus and UNH’s launch of a new and prestigious social business competition, a group of alumni and business leaders were inspired to help make the challenge even more special by raising additional prize money.

To honor one of the world’s most important innovators, as well as New Hampshire’s most promising student and community social entrepreneurs, this leadership group pledged nearly $2,300 to kick off a crowdfunding effort intended to raise the bar on the competition and its prizes.

Our goal is to raise an additional $2,700 or more this September, so that UNH can provide provide prizes that attract New Hampshire’s most determined and motivated social innovators.

Where will my contribution go?

Your charitable, tax deductible contribution will be made directly to the University of New Hampshire, which will award the prize money to the winners of the Social Business Innovation Challenge on September 30th.

What happens if we raise more than $5,000?

All funds raised by the Challenge for the Challenge will be distributed as prize money in social business innovation competitions, now or in the future. Exceeding our goal will show strong support for UNH's engagement with the New Hampshire business community and its commitment to developing the state's next generation of social entrepreneurs. Depending upon how much we raise, some funds contributed beyond the $5,000 goal may be held by UNH for future social business innovation competitions.

How is this a crowdfunding campaign?

Crowdfunding leverages the internet to raise small contributions from a wide range of donors. While the campaign was kickstarted by the leadership team, we hope that we’ll greatly exceed the $5,000 goal by reaching hundreds of UNH alums and other supporters across NH and the country.
